Einstein’s “Who Owns the Fish”
This brain teaser was allegedly created by Albert Einstein in the late 19th century, who (allegedly) claimed that only 2% of people can solve it correctly. I solved it in about 7 minutes, and two half-sheets of paper, but made (correct) assumptions and then doublechecked the facts. My girlfriend took over an hour, but worked only with the facts; she made absolutely no assumptions. The correct answer CAN be determined with just the hints provided below. Please, do not give away the answer in the comments, but feel free to ask and I will get back to you privately. And don’t search for the answer, where’s the fun in cheating?
In a street there are five houses, painted five different colors.
In each house lives a person of different nationality
These five homeowners each drink a different kind of beverage, smoke different brands of cigarrettes and keep a different pet.
THE QUESTION: WHO OWNS THE FISH?
