Prevaricating Mendacious Truth-Stretcher -or- A Lie Is A Lie.
Not being much of a fan of Rachel Maddow, I actually flipped past this on TV the other night. However, after a friend (thanks Ed) posted it on Facebook, I decided to take a look.
Troopergate, in case you hadn’t heard, is the “scandal” in which Sarah Palin allegedly fired Walt Monegan, Public Safety Commissioner for the State of Alaska, for failing to succumb to her pressure to fire Mike Wooten, an Alaska State Trooper who just happens to be Palin’s ex-brother-in-law.
This, in turn, sparked an Investigation, and a “scandal.” The results of this Investigation were released Friday. The report concludes that
Palin violated the state’s executive branch ethics act, which says that “each public officer holds office as a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that trust.”

Rachel Maddow presents Palin’s responses to questions about the report with her own striking commentary, and has no qualms with calling a liar a liar.
